ANTIQUE SEWING TOOL EYELET HOLE PUNCH-BONE? or IVORY?
This ANTIQUE SEWING TOOL was used for making an EYELET HOLE. It is referred to as a EYELET HOLE PUNCH.
The previous owner stated in a hand written note that this TOOL is made of IVORY but we cannot say for sure, it is very similar to bone.
The CONDITION is ANTIQUE-USED. The end has a sharp point. The only flaw that we can see is that the top is not as round as it probably was originally and it has a knick.
It is not labled or marked.
This TOOL was found with the SHAKER CASE that we have sold on a seperate listing.
Circa: 1900
Condition: USED
Size: Length - 2 1/4 inches

ANTIQUE SEWING TOOLTHIMBLE-SIMONS BROTHERS-STERLING SILVER
This ANTIQUE THIMBLE was made by SIMONS BORTHERS of PHILADELPHIA, P.A.
The THIMBLE has a DESIGN PATTERN (design sequence from top to bottom): DOT/BAND/ASTER (kind of looks like a PINWHEEL).
The word: STERLING is impressed as a 1/2 circle over and around the number 9 on the design area that we noted as the band (see photos).
The SIMONS SHIELD MARK is etched on the inside of the thimble.
Our research/resource states that this MARK was used by SIMONS BROTHERS COMPANY between 1840 and through the present date. This THIMBLE is shown on page 33 of the THIMBLE BOOK by Averil Mathis.
The CONDITION is ANTIQUE-USED. The design is in very good condition. We must note that there is a dent/impression on the upper dot pattern (see photo). The THIMBLE is very tarnished. We will leave it up to the new owner/collector on whether or not they would like to keep it in this condition or polish it.
The MARK is as stated in our description.
This THIMBLE was found in the SHAKER SEWING CASE that have sold on a seperate listing.
Circa: Late 1800s - 1925
Size: Height - 9/16ths of an inch
Manufacturer: SIMONS BROTHERS
