This AMBROTYPE is a PORTRAIT of a PRETTY WELL DRESSED WOMAN. She is wearing a VICTORIAN DRESS with a COLLAR. Her facial features are clear and her cheeks are tinted pink. Her hair is dark and she is wearing her hair pulled back and parted in the middle. There is a GOLD BROACH in the center of her collar and she is wearing a RING. Her hands are on her lap and she is hold a letter.
Some consider the CASE to be a UNION CASE because of the ERA in which it is made. It is not of the PLASTIC COMPOSITION. The CASE is BROWN and made of a WOOD COMPOSITION. The DESIGN on the CASE is called a SCROLL/FLORAL DESIGN.
The AMBROTYPE is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. It has some fading.
The CASE is in GOOD CONDITION. It is NOT BOUND. It has one latch. There is some wear to the edge of the case. The VELVET PADDING and TRIM faded but still sofe. All of the pieces of the CASE that PROTECT the AMBROTYPE are present. The case is complete.
