This is an ORIGINAL WWII SWEETHEART PILLOW CASE.
These PILLOW CASES were issued by various military units during the 1940's. They were purchased by service men and sent back home to their Mother, Wife or Girlfriend.
This SWEETHEART PILLOW CASE was issued by the U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES at CHATHAM FIELD in SAVANNAH, GEORGIA. It has a ARMED FORCES SYMBOL on it along with OLD GLORY, the AMERICAN FLAG, and TWO AIR PLANES.
The colors are RED, WHITE, and BLUE. There is GOLD FRINGE around the pillow case with a BLUE RIBBON intertwined within the FRINGE.
The OVERALL CONDITION as FAIR. The PILLOW CASE is fully intact and so is the fringe. The COLORS are faded especially the BLUE. The background color which once was white is not. The reverse side of the PILLOW CASE is a solid blue.
The FABRIC shows signs of wear and the colors are faced.
