VINTAGE LETTER 1952 signed by ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN
ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN cared about his fans just as much as they cared about him and his music.
The stationary/letterhead has the address 1139 TOWER ROAD, BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA at the top.
The letter is dated April 25, 1952 and is signed ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN.
It reads: Dear....It gives me particular pleasure to send a photograph of mine to you, one of my really loyal and sympathetic listeners. Your presence at any concert of mine gives me always a moral lift, as I feel sure that at least one person listens with all her heart to my playing.
I have had no time yet to read the book you were kind enough to give me, but this summer I promise I am going to read it.
Also let me thank you for your sweet and generous gift for the Chopin Fund.
Yours always, cordially, Arthur Rubinstein
More information about the letter: What also makes this letter even more interesting is that when this letter was typed the letteri is missing in the spelling of two of the words. Mr. Rubinstein may have proof-read the letter and marked in the missing i's. It appears to us that the same pen was used for the signature and the two missing letter i's.
The CONDITION of the PAPER is GOOD. The PAPER is thin/onion skin is slightly dry but not brittle and has discoloration.
Interestingly enough when the letter is raised up to the light there are words that are super-imposed on the stationary that read: BROADWAY TRUST BOND (there are some other letters also but we cannot decipher them at this time).
Unfortuneately, we do not have the PHOTOGRAPH that the letter is referring to but we do have the ORIGINAL WRITTEN/ STAMPED/POSTMARKED ENVELOPE that the letter was mailed in.
