PORCELAIN / POTTERY WASH BASIN & PITCHER-HARKER-STONE CHINA
This beautiful and hard to find MATCHING SET is an VINTAGE WASH BASIN and PITCHER.
Our research/resource indicates that the BACKSTAMP MARK is that of the HARKER POTTERY COMPANY of EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO.
The BACKSTAMP MARK also tells us that this is the HARKER POTTERY COMPANIES STONE CHINA LINE. Our research indicates that this stone china line was made during the late 1800's.
The WASH BASIN and PITCHER both feature a PRIMARY WHITE BACKGROUND. Every so often there is a pattern of a lovely CLUSTER/SPRAY of VINES/FLOWERS (closely resembling clematis) in a pale shade of blue.
The PITCHER MEASURES: Height 11 1/2 inches X Width 8 1/2 inches X Length (to end of handle) 10 1/2 inches. Liquid Capacity - 6 Quarts (192 ounces).
The BASIN (BOWL) MEASURES: Height 4 1/2 inches X Diameter 15 inches.
The CONDITION is ESTATE / USED. This is an ANTIQUE. The glaze is shiney and the color is dark. The pitcher has crazing.
The bowl has crazing and some staining from age. It also has some useage marks on the bottom from placing the pitcher inside of it and then taking it out again. There is a small dent in the bottom of the bowl from doing this also (see photos).
The HARKER POTTERY STONE CHINA BACKSTAMP/MARK are on bottom of the PITCHER and the BOWL.
