LITTLE JOURNEYS TO THE HOMES OF AMERICAN STATESMEN by HUBBARD
The BOOK is called LITTLE JOURNEYS to the HOMES of AMERICAN STATESMEN and was written by ELBERT HUBBARD.
It is quite the book to behold. The JOURNEY begins with GEORGE WASHINGTON and ends with ABRAHAM LINCOLN. The ILLUSTRATIONS are WONDERFULL. They appear to be STEEL PLATE ENGRAVINGS of the PRESIDENTS and FAMOUS PAINTINGS and each ILLUSTRATION is protected by rice paper.
An added feature in this book is that there is a FACSIMILE of each of the PRESIDENTS SIGNATURES and (at the very end) a FACSIMILE OF LINCOLN'S GETTYSBURG ADDRESS!
The CONDITION of the book is FAIR. The FRONT COVER is fine and the BACK COVER has some wear. The book was kept in a box in the basement and has some moisture damage to the pages. It has made the pages look rippled and there are some water marks. The last 2 BLANK PAGES have a bit of MOLD.
Surprisingly enough none of the pictures are damaged. The binding is strong but (at the very beginning of the book) there are 4 of the pages have seperated away from the binding.
Publisher: THE KNICKERBOCKER PRESS of NEW YORK, and COPYRIGHTED in 1898 by G.P. PUTNAME'S SONS

HARDCOVER BOOK ABRAHAM LINCOLN by LORD CHARNWOOD-ENGLAND
This HARDCOVER BOOK was written by LORD CHARNWOOD of ENGLAND and published by GARDEN CITY PUBLISHING COMPANY in 1938. The TITLE is ABRAHAM LINCOLN. The book is about LINCOLNS life beginning with his boyhood throughout his adult life and ending with the effect Lincoln had on the people of the United States.
This book is written through the eyes and mind of an English writer.
Basil Williams, editor note states, It is fit that the first considered attempt by an Englishman to give a picture of Lincoln, the great hero of America's struggle for the noblest cause, should come at a time when we in England are passing through as firery a trial for a cause we feel to be as noble. It is a time when we may learn much form Lincoln's failures and success, from his patience, his modesty, his serene optimism and his eloquence, so simple and so magnificient.
Very interesting book. The CONDITION of the book is VERY GOOD. It has 482 pages.
